OUR SITE  

We started SilverScreenArchive.com to share our collection of classic films with other Classic Film Enthusiasts. Our collection consists of films that haven't been released on commercial DVD so most of what you'll find here is rare and usually hard-to-find.  Many will never be released by the studios so this is the only place to find them.  

OUR SELECTION  

We have the best selection of rare classic films for rent, anywhere. We only carry the classics (pre-1970), with a concentration between 1930 -1960. There are over three thousand classics in our inventory:  

• Transfers from commercially released VHS to DVD (about 1,500)  
• Non-commercial transfers to DVD (about 1,500)  

PROCESS  

Once you become subscriber, we ship out a number of discs (based on your subscription plan) from a list your chosen titles. When you return one disc, we send you another from your chosen list. Service is available in all 50 states and territories (US first class Mail) and is on a subscription basis which can be cancelled at any time. The only charges you pay are the chosen subscription plan fees and your local state (CA) sales tax.

OTHER DETAILS  

We love classic films and want to make as many as possible available to the general public. However, because shipping VHS via mail is cost prohibitive, we've transferred our personal collection of films from VHS to DVD. The reproduction of our private collection is on a 1 to 1 ratio for rental by members only. We do not make multiple copies of our legally purchased commercial films on VHS, nor do we sell them. However, we do sell copies of non-commercial films on DVD.  

PURCHASE  

You do not need to be a member to purchase from our available titles. All of the DVD's we sell are non-commercial titles that have never been commercially released on VHS or DVD. If you'd like to request a title that is not listed as available for sale email us at support@SilverScreenArchive.com  

Other Sales Details:  

• All non-commercial DVD's come in a plain Tyvek sleeve without artwork.  
• If you rent a title and want to keep it, check and make sure it's available for sale on the "BUY" link, then just email us at support@SilverScreenArchive.com. We'll charge your credit card that's on file and take the title out of your current rentals list. That way you'll save on shipping and get your next rental must faster.  
• Domestic shipping is a flat $5 no matter how many titles you order.  
• Domestic priority shipping is a flat $8 no matter how many titles you order.  
• International shipping is a flat $10 no matter how many titles you order.  
• Non-commercial titles are DVD+R and will work in virtually all newer DVD players.  
• Refunds are given within 30 days for any DVD's that are defective.  
• Refunds are not given for incompatibility.  

Orders are usually shipped in 1 - 3 days.
